The processing of the leather

1 | Selection of Hides

The choice of the hides is the preliminary stage and is important for the correct implementation of the entire production cycle. Our master craftsmen manually inspect the rawhides. Hides with natural defects are discarded and then the hides are divided by thickness. In fact, based on the thickness, the hides are used for the men or women's collection or for various colors. The hides will be refined (honed) and dyed before further proceeding with the first process phase.

2 | Cutting

This is the phase that gives start to the actual processing. The Naples technique is used. With this technique, the hide is "pulled" on wooden boards to prevent sagging and future slacking, hand cut with scissors, precision lines and cardboard calibers. Gloves and thumbs are cut separately and matched based on shades. It is useless to abandon a tradition that has proved to be so successful.

3 | Shearing

Once it is matched to the selected lining (cashmere, silk, etc.), the cut and calibrated leather is moved to the cutter, where it is "split". By using the original template and the manual press, the glove starts to take shape and we can start to see the desired size and design. The fingers, shape of the wrist, the length and all distinctive elements of the glove are revealed.

4 | Sewing and finishing

The split glove is then assembled in the sewing phase. The forks, strips of leather between the fingers, are sown to the glove and the back of the palm is joined. This gives the glove its body. The various stitches crated have been handed down through generations. Strock, inside stitch for classic gloves. Pk, the most resistant stitch for thick hides such as deer hide. Saddler, stitches for sports and driving gloves. Hand stitching, for elegant and classy gloves. Once sewn, the glove is finished by adding the various distinctive details of each model such as buttons, decorated cuffs and straps.

5 | Stretching and quality control

Before the glove can be considered finished, it is manually stretched on irons designed to eliminate folds in the hide created during the various processes. A detailed quality control is then carried out to check the tightness of the seams, the quality of the lining, the fit and the quality of added details so that the finished product meets the company's strict quality standards.
